For the first time in over two years, Brisbanians can rejoice at the return of Oz Comic-Con to their State with the launch of Oz Comic-Con Homegrown Brisbane - the ultimate showcase of local pop culture to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on March 26th and 27th.
Since its Australian launch back in 2012, Oz Comic-Con has secured a permanent place within the hearts of pop culture fans across the country through its ongoing support of the local community. Though we have felt as if the last two years have left us drifting through the multiverse, Oz Comic-Con Homegrown Brisbane is part of the healing process, encompassing everything that we have come to know and love from Oz Comic-Con over the years.
Oz Comic-Con Homegrown will feature all of the exciting elements that have made the event so successful in the past but with a focus on content from QLD including guests, exhibitors and activations.
Oz Comic-Con is also excited to announce their partnership with the Australian Esports League (AEL) for their gaming zone, which will offer various opportunities for keen gamers to battle it out against their friends and members of the community.
This will join staple event pillars including Cosplay Central, Artist Alley, Tabletop Gaming, three stages, and more, alongside a lineup of guests from film and television who will be engaging in a range of photo and autograph sessions throughout the weekend. With a jam-packed schedule full of stalls, workshops and activities, attendees can expect appearances from local creators, comic artists, gaming and freeplay opportunities, industry talks and panels and exclusive merchandise that can’t be found anywhere else.
With Brisbane’s pop culture aficionados finally waking from their cryosleep, it’s time to swap those VR headsets for facemasks and prepare for an epic weekend no matter what fandom you belong to.
