The thrash metal favorite comic series Maurice & The Metal is back with Issue #4 “INTO THE VOID”, now live on Kickstarter. Set against the gritty backdrop of the 1980s Bay Area thrash scene, this urban fantasy continues the saga of Maurice - a teenage drummer who gains superhuman strength whenever he listens to metal, thanks to his possessed Walkman.

Created by Brisbane-based writer Aaron Sammut, Maurice & The Metal blends high-octane music culture with supernatural storytelling. The series has garnered acclaim for its authentic homage to metal and its unique narrative. Issue #4 promises to delve deeper into Maurice’s battle against the oppressive goth punk antagonist, V, who seeks to plunge the world into eternal gloom. Issue #4 is brought to life by the dynamic artistry of Lauren Marshall - www.laurenmarshallart. com, a Perth-based illustrator renowned for her bold linework and storytelling prowess.

With a background in animation, Lauren has carved a niche in the comic book industry, contributing to titles such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for IDW and Power Rangers for BOOM! Studios. Lauren’s gritty yet stylized illustrations infuse Maurice & The Metal with a vibrant energy that resonates with both comic enthusiasts and metal aficionados.

The Issue #4 Kickstarter campaign offers fans exclusive rewards, including limited-edition prints, digital bundles, and behind-the-scenes content.

With 18 days remaining, the campaign has already achieved 60% of its funding goal, reflecting strong support from the comic and metal communities.
